"إذا كان يوم الجمعة كان على كل باب من أبواب المسجد ملائكة يكتبون الناس على قدر منازلهم الأول فالأول فإذا جلس الإمام ¤ طووا الصحف وجاءوا يستمعون الذكر ومثل المهجر كمثل الذي يهدي بدنة ثم كالذي يهدي بقرة ثم كالذي يهدي الكبش ثم كالذي يهدي الدجاجة ثم كالذي يهدي البيضة"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When it is Friday, at every one of the doors of the mosque there are angels who record the people according to their ranks, the first and then the one after him. Then when the imam sits (on the pulpit), they roll up their registers and come to listen to the remembrance (the sermon). The one who comes early (for the Friday prayer) is like one who offers a camel (in charity), then like one who offers a cow, then like one who offers a ram, then like one who offers a hen, and then like one who offers an egg."
