«لا تقوم الساعة حتى ينزل الروم بالأعماق أو بدابق فيخرج إليهم جيش من المدينة من خيار أهل الأرض يومئذ فإذا تصافوا قالت الروم: خلوا بيننا وبين الذين سبوا منا نقاتلهم فيقول المسلمون: لا والله لا نخلي بينكم وبين إخواننا فيقاتلونهم فينهزم ثلث لا يتوب الله عليهم أبدا ويقتل ثلث هم أفضل الشهداء عند الله ويفتتح الثلث لا يفتنون أبدا ; فيفتتحون القسطنطينية فبينما هم يقتسمون الغنائم قد علقوا سيوفهم بالزيتون إذ صاح فيهم الشيطان: إن المسيح قد خلفكم في أهليكم فيخرجون وذلك باطل فإذا جاءوا الشام خرج فبينما هم يعدون للقتال يسوون الصفوف إذ أقيمت الصلاة فينزل عيسى بن مريم فأمهم فإذا رآه عدوالله ذاب كما يذوب الملح في الماء فلوتركه لا نذاب حتى يهلك ولكن يقتله الله بيده فيريهم دمه في حربته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Hour will not be established until the Romans land at al-A'maq or at Dabiq. Then an army from Madinah, the best of the people of the earth at that time, will go out to them. When they line up in ranks, the Romans will say: 'Leave us to those of ours who were taken captive from among us; we will fight them.' The Muslims will say: 'No, by Allah! We will not stand aside between you and our brothers.' So they will fight them. A third will be defeated and flee, and Allah will never accept their repentance; a third will be killed, and they will be the most excellent of martyrs in the sight of Allah; and a third will be victorious, and they will never be put to trial. Then they will conquer Constantinople. While they are dividing the spoils, having hung their swords on the olive trees, Satan will suddenly cry out among them: 'The Masih ad-Dajjal has taken your place among your families behind you!' So they will set out, though it will be a lie. Then when they reach Syria, he will appear. While they are preparing for battle and straightening the ranks, the prayer will be called, and Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) will descend and lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah sees him, he will begin to dissolve as salt dissolves in water; and even if he were left alone, he would go on dissolving until he perished. But Allah will have him killed by the hand of Isa (peace be upon him), and he will show them his blood on his spear."
