«لا تقدموا الشهر حتى تروا الهلال أو تكملوا العدة قبله ثم صوموا حتى تروا الهلال أو تكملوا العدة قبله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Do not go ahead of the month until you see the moon or complete the count of the month before it; then keep fasting until you see the moon or complete the count before it."
