«لا تقدموا الشهر بيوم ولا يومين إلا أن يوافق ذلك صوما كان يصومه أحدكم صوموا لرؤيته وأفطروا لرؤيته فإن غم عليكم فعدوا ثلاثين ثم أفطروا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Do not fast a day or two before Ramadan, unless it coincides with someone's regular fast. Fast upon seeing the moon and stop fasting upon seeing the moon; and if clouds cover it over you, count thirty days, then stop fasting."
