" هل تضارون في رؤية الشمس بالظهيرة صحوا ليس معها سحاب؟ وهل تضارون في رؤية القمر ليلة البدر صحوا ليس فيها سحاب؟ ما تضارون في رؤية الله يوم القيامة إلا كما تضارون في رؤية أحدهما إذا كان يوم القيامة أذن مؤذن: ليتبع كل أمة ما كانت تعبد فلا يبقى أحد كان يعبد غير الله من الأصنام والأنصاب إلا يتساقطون في النار حتى إذا لم يبق إلا من كان يعبد الله من بر وفاجر وغير أهل الكتاب فيدعى اليهود فيقال لهم: ما كنتم تعبدون؟ قالوا: كنا نعبد عزيرا ابن الله! فيقال: كذبتم ما اتخذ الله من صاحبة ولا ولد فماذا تبغون؟ قالوا: عطشنا يا ربنا فاسقنا فيشار إليهم: ألا تردون؟ فيحشرون إلى النار كأنها سراب يحطم بعضها بعضا فيتساقطون في النار ; ثم يدعى النصارى فيقال لهم: ما كنتم تعبدون؟ قالوا: كنا نعبد المسيح ابن الله! فيقال لهم: كذبتم ما اتخذ الله من صاحبة ولا ولد فيقال لهم: ماذا تبغون؟ فيقولون: عطشنا يا ربنا فاسقنا فيشار إليهم: ألا تردون؟ فيحشرون إلى جهنم كأنها سراب يحطم بعضها بعضا فيتساقطون في النار حتى إذا لم يبق إلا من كان يعبد الله من بر وفاجر أتاهم رب العالمين في أدنى صورة من التي رأوه فيها قال: فما تنتظرون؟ تتبع كل أمة ما كانت تعبد قالوا: يا ربنا فارقنا الناس في الدنيا أفقر ما كنا إليهم ولم نصاحبهم فيقول: أنا ربكم قيقولون: نعوذ بالله منك لا نشرك بالله شيئا مرتين أو ثلاثا حتى إن بعضهم ليكاد أن ينقلب فيقول: هل بينكم وبينه آية فتعرفونه بها؟ فيقولون: نعم الساق فيكشف عن ساق فلا يبقي من كان يسجد لله من تلقاء نفسه إلا أذن الله له بالسجود ولا يبقى من كان يسجد اتقاء ورياء إلا جعل الله ظهره طبقة واحدة كلما أراد أن يسجد خر على قفاه ثم يرفعون رءوسهم وقد تحول في الصورة التي رأوه فيها أول مرة فيقول: أنا ربكم فيقولون: أنت ربنا ; ثم يضرب الجسر على جهنم وتحل الشفاعة ويقولون: اللهم سلم سلم قيل: يا رسول الله وما الجسر؟ قال: دحض مزلة فيه خطاطيف وكلاليب وحسكة تكون بنجد فيها شويكة يقال لها: السعدان فيمر المؤمنون كطرف العين وكالبرق وكالريح وكالطير وكأجأويد الخيل والركاب فناج مسلم ومخدوش مرسل ومكدوس في نار جهنم حتى إذا خلص المؤمنون من النار فوالذي نفسي بيده ما من أحد منكم بأشد مناشدة لله في استيفاء الحق من المؤمنين لله يوم القيامة لإخوانهم الذين في النار يقولون: ربنا كانوا يصومون معنا ويصلون ويحجون فيقال لهم: أخرجوا من عرفتم فتحرم صورهم على النار فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا قد أخذت النار إلى نصف ساقه وإلى ركبتيه قيقولون: ربنا ما بقي فيها أحد ممن أمرتنا به ; فيقول الله عز وجل: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال دينار من خير فأخرجوه فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا ثم يقولون ربنا لم نذر فيها أحدا ممن أمرتنا به ; ثم يقول: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال نصف دينار من خير فأخرجوه فيخرجون خلقا كثيرا ثم يقولون: ربنا لم نذر فيها ممن أمرتنا أحدا ثم يقول: ارجعوا فمن وجدتم في قلبه مثقال ذرة من خير فأخرجوه فيخرجون خلقا كثير ثم يقولون: ربنا! لم نذر فيها خيرا فيقول الله: شفعت الملائكة وشفع النبيون وشفع المؤمنون ولم يبق إلا أرحم الراحمين فيقبض قبضة من النار فيخرج منها قوما لم يعملوا خير قط قد عادوا حمما فيلقيهم في نهر في أفواه الجنة يقال له: نهر الحياة فيخرجون كما تخرج الحبة في حميل السيل ألا ترونها تكون إلى الحجر أو الشجر ما يكون إلى الشمس أصيفر وأخيضر وما يكون منها إلى الظل يكون أبيض فيخرجون كاللؤلؤ في رقابهم الخواتيم يعرفهم أهل الجنة: هؤلاء عتقاء الله من النار الذين أدخلهم الجنة بغير عمل عملوه ولا خير قدموه ثم يقول: أدخلوا الجنة فما رأيتموه فهو لكم فيقولون: ربنا أعطيتنا ما لم تعط أحدا من العالمين فيقول: لكم عندي أفضل من هذا؟ فيقولون: يا ربنا أي شيء أفضل من هذا؟ فيقول: رضاي فلا أسخط عليكم بعده أبدا "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun at midday, when the sky is clear and there is no cloud over it? And do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon, when the sky is clear and there is no cloud over it? You will have no more difficulty in seeing Allah on the Day of Resurrection than you have in seeing either of them. When the Day of Resurrection comes, a caller will announce: 'Let every nation follow what it used to worship.' Then not one of those who worshipped idols and stone altars besides Allah will remain, except that they will fall into the Fire, until none remain except those who used to worship Allah, whether righteous or sinful, and some of the People of the Book. Then the Jews will be called and it will be said to them: 'What did you use to worship?' They will say: 'We used to worship Uzayr, the son of Allah!' It will be said: 'You have lied; Allah has taken neither a wife nor a son. What do you want?' They will say: 'O our Lord, we are thirsty, so give us water.' It will be pointed out to them: 'Will you not go there?' So they will be driven towards Hell, which will appear like a mirage, and they will fall into Hell crushing one another. Then the Christians will be called and it will be said to them: 'What did you use to worship?' They will say: 'We used to worship the Messiah, the son of Allah!' It will be said to them: 'You have lied; Allah has taken neither a wife nor a son.' It will be said to them: 'What do you want?' They will say: 'O our Lord, we are thirsty, so give us water.' It will be pointed out to them: 'Will you not go?' So they will be driven towards Hell, which will appear like a mirage, and they will fall into Hell crushing one another, until none remain except those who used to worship Allah, whether righteous or sinful. Then the Lord of the worlds will come to them in a form different from the one in which they had seen Him before, and He will say: 'What are you waiting for now? Let every nation follow what it used to worship.' They will say: 'O our Lord, in the world we parted from people at the time we needed them most, and we did not keep company with them.' He will say: 'I am your Lord.' They will say: 'We seek refuge in Allah from you; we will not associate anything with Allah,' saying this two or three times, until some of them will be close to turning back from faith. He will say: 'Is there a sign between you and Him by which you would recognise Him?' They will say: 'Yes, the shin.' Then He will uncover His shin, and none who used to prostrate to Allah sincerely from his heart will remain except that Allah will permit him to prostrate; and whoever used to prostrate out of fear or to show off, Allah will make his back a single rigid plank, and whenever he tries to prostrate he will fall on the back of his neck. Then they will raise their heads, and He will have changed into the form in which they saw Him the first time, and He will say: 'I am your Lord.' They will say: 'You are our Lord.' Then the bridge will be laid over Hell and intercession will be permitted, and they will say: 'O Allah, grant safety, grant safety.' It was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the bridge?' He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'A slippery place on which there are hooks and thorny things, and a thorny plant found in Najd called al-Sa'dan. The believers will pass over it like the blink of an eye, like lightning, like the wind, like birds, and like fine horses and riding animals. Some will escape safe and sound, some will be let go after being scratched, and some will be thrown headlong into Hell. Then, when the believers are saved from the Fire, by the One in whose Hand is my soul! None of you pleads with Allah more earnestly for obtaining his right than the believers will plead with Allah on the Day of Resurrection for their brothers who are in the Fire. They will say: O our Lord, they used to fast with us, pray and perform Hajj. It will be said to them: Bring out those whom you recognise. Their faces will be forbidden to the Fire, and they will bring out a great many people whom the Fire had burned up to the middle of their shins and up to their knees. They will say: O our Lord, not one of those You commanded us about remains in it. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will say: Go back, and whoever you find with good in his heart equal to the weight of a dinar, bring him out. So they will bring out a great many people. Then they will say: O our Lord, we have not left anyone of those You commanded us about. Then He will say: Go back, and whoever you find with good in his heart equal to the weight of half a dinar, bring him out. So they will bring out a great many people, then they will say: O our Lord, we have not left anyone of those You commanded us about. Then He will say: Go back, and whoever you find with good in his heart equal to the weight of a speck, bring him out. So they will bring out a great many people, then they will say: O our Lord, we have not left any good in it. Allah will say: The angels have interceded, the Prophets have interceded and the believers have interceded, and none remains but the Most Merciful of the merciful. Then He will take a handful from the Fire and bring out of it people who never did any good at all, and who have turned into charcoal. Then He will cast them into a river at the entrances of Paradise called the River of Life, and they will sprout as a seed sprouts in the silt carried by a flood. Do you not see that the plant on the shaded side of a stone or a tree is white, and that which is towards the sun is yellowish or greenish? So they will come out like pearls, with seals of identification on their necks. The people of Paradise will recognise them and say: These are those whom Allah has freed from the Fire, whom He admitted into Paradise without any deed that they did and without any good that they sent ahead. Then He will say: Enter Paradise; whatever you see is yours. They will say: O our Lord, You have given us what You have not given to anyone among the people of the world. He will say: I have for you something better than this. They will say: O our Lord, what could be better than this? He will say: My pleasure; I will never be displeased with you after this.'"
