«المدينة حرام من كذا إلى كذا لا يقطع شجرها ولا يحدث فيها حدث من أحدث فيها حدثا أو أوى محدثا فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين لا يقبل الله منه يوم القيامة صرفا ولا عدلا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Madinah is a sanctuary from such-and-such a place to such-and-such a place. Its trees are not to be cut, nor is any innovation to be introduced in it. Whoever introduces an innovation in it or shelters an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people; Allah Almighty will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection any voluntary deed or obligatory one."
