«ما ملأ آدمي وعاء شرا من بطنه بحسب ابن آدم أكلات يقمن صلبه فإن كان لا محالة فثلث لطعامه وثلث لشرابه وثلث لنفسه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A human being has not filled any vessel worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to have a few morsels that keep his back upright. If it must be (more), then let him leave one third for his food, one third for his drink and one third for his breath."
