«كان إذا قفل من غزو أو حج أو عمرة يكبر على كل شرف من الأرض - ثلاث تكبيرات - ثم يقول: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير آيبون تائبون عابدون ساجدون لربنا حامدون صدق الله وعده ونصر عبده وهزم الأحزاب وحده»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a military expedition, Hajj or Umrah, he would say the takbir three times on every elevated place of the land, then he would say: 'La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Ayibuna, ta'ibuna, 'abiduna, sajiduna, li-Rabbina hamidun. Sadaqallahu wa'dah, wa nasara 'abdah, wa hazamal-ahzaba wahdah' (There is no true god but Allah, He is alone and has no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. We are returning, repenting, worshipping, prostrating, and praising our Lord. Allah has fulfilled His promise, helped His servant, and alone defeated the confederate armies of the enemy)."
