«كان إذا قرب إليه طعام قال: بسم الله فإذا فرغ قال: اللهم إنك أطعمت وسقيت وأغنيت وأقنيت وهديت واجتبيت اللهم فلك الحمد على ما أعطيت»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When food was placed before him (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: Bismillah (In the name of Allah). And when he had finished, he would say: O Allah, You have fed, given drink, enriched, provided sufficiency in the means of life, guided and chosen. O Allah, to You alone belongs all praise for what You have given."
