«الكبائر تسع: أعظمهن إشراك بالله وقتل النفس بغير حق وأكل الربا وأكل مال اليتيم وقذف المحصنة والفرار يوم الزحف وعقوق الوالدين واستحلال البيت الحرام: قبلتكم أحياء وأمواتا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The major sins are nine, the greatest of them being associating partners with Allah; then killing a soul unjustly, consuming usury (riba), consuming the wealth of an orphan, slandering a chaste woman, fleeing from the battlefield of jihad, disobedience to parents, and treating as lawful (the violation of) the sanctity of the Ka'bah, which is your qiblah both in life and in death."
