"إذا أفطر أحدكم فليفطر على تمر فإنه بركة فإن لم يجد تمرا فليفطر على الماء فإنه طهور"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When any of you breaks his fast, let him break it with a date, for it is pure blessing. If he cannot find a date, let him break it with water, for water is a means of purification."
