«زار رجل أخا له في قرية فأرصد الله له ملكا على مدرجته فقال: أين تريد؟ قال: أخا لي في هذه القرية فقال: هل له عليك من نعمة تربها؟ قال: لا إلا أني أحبه في الله قال: فإني رسول الله إليك أن الله أحبك كما أحببته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A man went to a village to visit a brother of his, so Allah appointed an angel for him on his way. He asked: Where do you intend to go? He said: To visit a brother of mine who is in this village. The angel asked: Has he done you any favour which you wish to increase? He said: No, rather I love him only for the sake of Allah. The angel said: Then I am sent to you by Allah (to tell you) that Allah loves you just as you loved him."
