«إذا أصبح أحدكم فليقل: اللهم بك أصبحنا وبك أمسينا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإليك المصير، وإذا أمسى فليقل: اللهم بك أمسينا وبك أصبحنا وبك نحيا وبك نموت وإليك النشور»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When any of you wakes up in the morning, he should say: 'Allahumma bika asbahna wa bika amsayna wa bika nahya wa bika namutu wa ilayka al-masir' (O Allah, by Your enabling we have reached the morning and by Your enabling we have reached the evening; by Your command we live and by Your command we die, and to You is the return). And when he reaches the evening, he should say: 'Allahumma bika amsayna wa bika asbahna wa bika nahya wa bika namutu wa ilayka al-nushur' (O Allah, by Your enabling we have reached the evening and by Your enabling we have reached the morning; by Your command we live and by Your command we die, and to You is the resurrection)."
