«ثلاث أقسم عليهن: ما نقص مال قط من صدقة فتصدقوا ولا عفا رجل عن مظلمة ظلمها إلا زاده الله تعالى بها عزا فاعفوا يزدكم الله عزا ولا فتح رجل على نفسه باب مسألة يسأل الناس إلا فتح الله عليه باب فقر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are three things upon which I swear: wealth is never diminished by charity, so give charity; no man forgives an injustice except that Allah Almighty increases him in honour because of it, so forgive, and Allah will give you honour; and no man opens upon himself the door of begging from people except that Allah opens upon him the door of poverty."
