«الأئمة من قريش ولهم عليكم حق ولكم مثل ذلك ما إن استرحموا رحموا وإن استحكموا عدلوا وإن عاهدوا وفوا فمن لم يفعل ذلك منهم فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين لا يقبل منه صرف ولا عدل»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The leaders will be from Quraysh. They have a right over you, and you likewise have the same right over them: when they are asked for mercy, they should show mercy; when they are made to judge, they should be just; and when they make a covenant, they should fulfil it. Whoever of them does not do so, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels and all of mankind; neither his obligatory nor his voluntary worship will be accepted."
