«أيما امرئ مسلم أعتق امرءا مسلما فهو فكاكه من النار يجزي بكل عظم منه عظما منه وأيما امرأة مسلمة أعتقت امرأة مسلمة فهي فكاكها من النار يجزي بكل عظم منها عظما منها وأيما امرئ مسلم أعتق امرأتين مسلمتين فهما فكاكه من النار يجزي بكل عظمين منهما عظما منه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whichever Muslim man frees a Muslim man, that will be his release from the Fire of Hell; Allah Almighty will save one bone of his (the freer) from Hell in return for every bone of his (the slave). And whichever Muslim woman frees a Muslim woman, that will become a shield for her from the Fire of Hell; Allah Almighty will save one bone of hers (the woman who freed) from the Fire in return for every bone of hers (the slave woman). And whichever Muslim man frees two Muslim women, they will be the means of his release from the Fire; Allah Almighty will save one bone of his from the Fire in return for every two bones of theirs."
