«إني أعطي رجالا حديثي عهد بكفر أتألفهم أما ترضون أن يذهب الناس بالأموال وترجعون إلى رحالكم برسول الله؟ فوالله لما تنقلبون به خير مما ينقلبون به إنكم سترون بعدي أثرة شديدة فاصبروا حتى تلقوا الله ورسوله فإني فرطكم على الحوض»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, I give (more wealth) to some men who have only recently come out of disbelief (that is, new Muslims), in order to win their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people go away with wealth while you return to your tents (and homes) with the Messenger of Allah? By Allah! What you are returning with is far better than what they are returning with. Surely, after me you will see others being given strong preference over you, so be patient (in the face of this injustice) until you meet Allah and His Messenger, for indeed I will be your forerunner (the one who receives you) at the Pond of Kawthar."
