"إن الله ينهاكم أن تحلفوا بآبائكم فمن كان حالفا فليحلف بالله وإلا فليصمت"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty forbids you from swearing by your forefathers; so whoever must swear, let him swear by Allah, or else remain silent."
