«إن الله تعالى كتب الإحسان على كل شيء فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبحة وليحد أحدكم شفرته وليرح ذبيحته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty has prescribed excellence (ihsan, gentleness and good conduct) in everything. So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter an animal, slaughter in a good manner. Let each of you sharpen his blade well and let him give ease to the animal he slaughters."
