"إن الله أخذ الميثاق من ظهر آدم بنعمان يوم عرفة وأخرج من صلبه كل ذرية ذرأها فنثرهم بين يديه كالذر ثم ¤ كلمهم قبلا قال: {َألَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى} "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty took the covenant from the back of Adam (peace be upon him) at Na'man (a valley of Arafat) on the Day of Arafah, and He brought forth from his loins all of his offspring that He was to create, then He scattered them before Him like tiny ants. Then He spoke to them face to face, saying: 'Am I not your Lord? They all answered: Yes indeed! (You are our Lord).' [Surah al-A'raf: 172]"
