«إن الصدق ليهدي إلى البر وإن البر يهدي إلى الجنة وإن الرجل ليصدق حتى يكتب عند الله صديقا وإن الكذب يهدي إلى الفجور وإن الفجور يهدي إلى النار وإن الرجل ليكذب حتى يكتب عند الله كذابا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise; and a man keeps on speaking the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a great truthful one (siddiq). And indeed, lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire of Hell; and a man keeps on lying until he is recorded with Allah as a great liar (kadhdhab)."
