The physical appearance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was neither very tall nor short. His palms and feet were thick and firm, his blessed head was large and his beard was thick, his complexion was white tinged with red, his joints were large, and he had a long line of hair from the chest to the navel. When he walked, he leaned slightly forward (because of his strength), as though he were descending a slope. I did not see anyone like him before him or after him.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it with these words.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were tinged with red (ashkal al-'aynayn), and his blessed mouth was wide. The narrator says: I asked, what is "ashkal al-'aynayn"? The answer came (in Persian): "Badam chashm" (that is, almond-shaped eyes with streaks of red in their white).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not laugh (heartily); rather, his laughter was only a smile. His shins were somewhat slender, and when you looked at him, you would say (because of the natural blackness and lustre of his eyes) that he had applied kohl to his eyes, although they had no kohl in them.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
