Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 993

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بَحْر بن نَصْر قال: قُرِئَ على ابن وهب: أخبرَك مالكُ بن أنس ويونسُ بن زيد وعمرُو بن الحارث، أنَّ ابن شِهَاب حدَّثهم عن عُرْوة بن الزُّبير، عن عبد الرحمن بن عبدٍ القارِيِّ: أَنه سَمِعَ عمرَ بن الخطَّاب يُعلِّمُ الناسَ التشهُّدَ على المِنبَر فيقول: قولوا: التحيَّاتُ الله الزاكياتُ لله الطيباتُ لله، السلامُ عليك أيُّها النبيُّ ورحمةُ الله وبَرَكاتُه، السلامُ علينا وعلى عبادِ الله الصالحين، أشهَدُ أن لا إله إلَّا الله، وأشهَدُ أنَّ محمدًا عبدُه ورسولُه (2).
Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Qari relates that he heard Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) teaching the people the tashahhud from the pulpit, saying: Say: 'At-tahiyyatu lillah, az-zakiyatu lillah, at-tayyibatu lillah, as-salamu 'alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, as-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadillahis-salihin, ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluh' (All verbal worship is for Allah, all pure worship is for Allah, all financial worship is for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger).

وأخرجه البيهقي 2/ 144 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم وآخرين، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (2/144) narrated it via Imam al-Hakim and others.
وأخرجه الطحاوي في "مشكل الآثار" (380)، و"معاني الآثار" 1/ 261 عن يونس بن عبد الأعلى، عن عبد الله بن وهب، به. إلّا أنه لم يذكر فيه يونس بن يزيد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tahawi narrated it in "Mushkil al-Athar" (380) and "Ma'ani al-Athar" (1/261) via Ibn Wahb, but Yunus bin Yazid is not mentioned in it.
وهو عند مالك في "موطئه" برواية يحيى الليثي 1/ 90، وبرواية ابن وهب عنه عند الطحاوي في "المشكل" (3805)، ورواه عن مالك أيضًا الشافعي في "الرسالة" (738). ¤ ¤ ورواه عن الزهري أيضًا كرواية هؤلاء معمرٌ فيما أخرجه عبد الرزاق (3067)، وابن أبي شيبة 1/ 293، والبيهقي 2/ 144.
Reference / Source: It is in Imam Malik's "al-Muwatta'" (narration of Yahya al-Laythi, 1/90); from Malik, al-Tahawi also transmitted it in "al-Mushkil" (3805) and Imam al-Shafi'i in "al-Risalah" (738).
Technical note: Ma'mar also narrated it from Imam al-Zuhri in the same way as these imams (Abd al-Razzaq 3067; Ibn Abi Shaybah 1/293; al-Bayhaqi 2/144).
