It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A cat does not break the prayer, for it is among the belongings of the house (among those who live in the house)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, since he cited Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad as supporting evidence, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
9/ 167. Technical note: (2) The author (al-Hakim) has taken several narrations from this narrator and called him "Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman"; al-Sam'ani also mentioned him in the same way in "al-Ansab".
Grading: (3) It is "hasan" as mawquf on Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). Variation in the chain: 'Ubayd Allah bin Abd al-Majid narrated it as marfu' (up to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)), but Abd Allah bin Wahb contradicted him and narrated it as mawquf, and according to Ibn Khuzaymah Ibn Wahb's version is more reliable. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Majah (369) by way of Muhammad bin Bashshar.
