It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He hastens his punishment for him in this world; and when He intends evil for a servant, He withholds (the punishment of) his sin from him until He repays him in full on the Day of Resurrection."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (5) The name (of the narrator) "Yazid" had dropped out of the manuscripts, and we have supplied it from the sources of the takhrij; no one narrated from Sinan except Yazid bin Abi Habib.
Grading: (1) It is sahih li-ghayrihi (sahih by virtue of supporting reports), and this chain is "hasan" in corroborating chains and supporting reports on account of Sinan bin Sa'd al-Kindi. Technical note / Defect ('illah): As for Ibn Lahi'ah, although he has a poor memory, here he is "corroborated" (mutaba'). Reference / Source: Al-Tahawi narrated it in "Mushkil al-Athar" (2050) from Yunus bin 'Abd al-A'la, and Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" 3/ 356 by way of Yazid bin Mawhab, both of them from Ibn Wahb, with this chain. Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (2396), Abu Ya'la (4254) and (4255), al-Bayhaqi in "al-Asma' wa al-Sifat" (316), and al-Baghawi in "Sharh al-Sunnah" (1435) narrated it by way of al-Layth bin Sa'd, from Yazid bin Abi Habib, with it. Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is hasan gharib. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported (as a shahid) by the hadith of 'Abd Allah bin Mughaffal that passed at number (1307), and its chain is sahih.
