Mustadrak al-Hakim 8958 — People will come to the Fire, then depart

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And there is none of you except he will come to it"; he said: "People will come to it, then they will cross from it according to their deeds." Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi said: I narrated this hadith to Shu'bah by way of Isra'il, al-Suddi, Murrah and Abdullah as marfu' (attributed) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Shu'bah said: "I too heard it from al-Suddi as marfu', but I have deliberately left it (narrating it as marfu')."
