It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse, "O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the Hour is a tremendous thing" [Surah al-Hajj: 1], was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during a journey, he (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his voice until his Companions turned their attention to him. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what day this will be? It will be the day when Allah Almighty will say to Adam (peace be upon him): O Adam! Rise and bring out 'ba'th al-nar' (the contingent of the Fire); from every thousand, take out nine hundred and ninety-nine." This weighed heavily upon the Muslims, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep to the right path, be moderate and receive glad tidings. By the One in whose Hand is my soul! Compared with the other nations you are (in number) like a mole on the side of a camel, or like a distinctive mark on the foreleg of an animal. With you will be two creations which increase the number of whatever they are with, namely Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog), and those of the disbelievers among the jinn and mankind who perished."
This chain is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: It is thus in our manuscripts, meaning: "he came forward" (aqbala). Al-Dhahabi's "al-Talkhis" has the word "thaba" (from "thaba al-nas"), which means: when people gather and come.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): "Al-Talkhis" has the word "li-khaliqatayn" (for two natures/creations), and this is the more fitting (awjah).
(78). Grading: This hadith is sahih, but it is from the narration of 'Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), as has already been pointed out with the author under number (79), where he narrated it via Mahmud bin Ghaylan, from 'Abd al-Razzaq. We have discussed this in detail under that earlier hadith of 'Imran (number 78).
