Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8899

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The truthful one, the one confirmed as truthful (al-Sadiq al-Masduq) (peace and blessings be upon him), told me: "People will be gathered in three groups: one group eating and drinking, clothed and riding; a second group walking and running; and a third group whom the angels will drag on their faces to the Fire." We said: O Abu Dharr! We have understood the first and third groups, but what is the matter with those who will walk and run? He said: Allah Almighty will send a calamity upon the riding animals, because of which no riding animal will remain.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain up to al-Walid bin Jumay', but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
