Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih (in terms of its text), and this chain is "hasan" for purposes of corroborating chains and supporting reports, on account of "Abu 'Utbah" (Ahmad bin al-Faraj al-Kindi al-Himsi) and his shaykh "Baqiyyah" (Ibn al-Walid).
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (41 / 24588) from Yazid bin 'Abd Rabbih, and by al-Nasa'i (2221, 11584) from 'Amr bin 'Uthman bin Sa'id; both of them narrate it from Baqiyyah bin al-Walid with this chain.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (51) and "Musnad al-Shamiyyin" (1253) via Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Yahya bin Hamzah al-Hadrami, from his father, from his father (Yahya), from Muhammad bin al-Walid al-Zubaydi, from al-Nu'man bin al-Mundhir, from al-Zuhri.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Tabarani's shaykh "Ahmad bin Muhammad" has munkar reports, as stated in al-Dhahabi's "al-Mizan", and al-Dhahabi declared him weak in "Tarikh al-Islam" (6/ 691).
Reference / Source: A similar narration was recorded by Ahmad (40 / 24265, 24266), al-Bukhari (6527), Muslim (2859), Ibn Majah (4276) and al-Nasa'i (2222, 11241) via al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, from his paternal aunt 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Details of the narration: At its end the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The matter will be far too severe for them to be concerned with that (looking at one another)."
Details of the narration: A similar narration is also reported from 'Uthman bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Qurazi, who narrates it from 'A'ishah; it will come later with the author under number (8903).
Note / Clarification: By the "addition" (ziyadah) is meant 'A'ishah's (may Allah be pleased with her) question about the private parts ('awrat) and the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) answer to her: "For every person (that Day there will be a matter)", and so on. The two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) recorded something similar by a route other than that of 'Urwah from her, as mentioned above, but this point escaped al-Hakim, and so he cited the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas!
Details of the narration: The hadith of 'Amr bin Dinar is in al-Bukhari (6524, 6525) and Muslim (2860/ 57) in abridged form, whereas the lengthy narration in both books is the hadith of al-Mughirah bin al-Nu'man, which is in al-Bukhari (3349) and Muslim (2860/ 58).
