It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When the great battles (malahim) take place, an army of non-Arab Muslims (mawali) will come out from Damascus. They will be the most honourable of the Arabs in horsemanship and the finest in weaponry, and Allah Almighty will support and aid the religion of Islam through them."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak on account of 'Uthman bin Abi al-'Atikah. Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement about him, but the preponderant view is that he is weak in what he narrates alone, because munkar (objectionable) narrations are found among his solitary reports, and he is alone in this hadith. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (4090) and others narrated it by way of al-Walid bin Muslim from 'Uthman, with this same chain. The mention of 'Damascus' dropped out of Ibn Majah's narration alone.
