Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8842

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Bless the people of Madinah in their mudd and their sa' (measures), and bless them in their city. O Allah! Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was Your servant and Your intimate friend, and I am Your servant and Your Messenger. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) supplicated to You for Makkah, and I ask You for Madinah the same as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) asked for Makkah, and I ask for as much blessing again along with it. Take heed! Madinah is encircled by angels; at each of its routes there are two angels guarding it. Neither the plague nor the Dajjal can enter it. Whoever intends evil towards the people of Madinah, Allah will melt him just as salt melts in water."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
