It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Years of deceit will come upon the people, in which the liar will be believed and the truthful one will be belied, the treacherous one will be trusted and the trustworthy one will be deemed treacherous, and the ruwaybidah will speak among them." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the ruwaybidah?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The insignificant, worthless man who speaks about the (collective and important) affairs of the general public."
The chain of this hadith is authentic (sahih), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts the word "Abi" was corrupted into "bin", whereas (the narrator) Bakr is "Abu al-Furat", as found in the biography of Ishaq in "Tahdhib al-Kamal" and its derivative works.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this name was corrupted and written as "Jud'an"; its correction was made from "Talkhis al-Dhahabi" and the sources of takhrij.
Grading: This hadith is "hasan", but this particular chain is "da'if" (weak), due to the weakness of 'Abd al-Malik bin Qudamah and the jahalah (being unknown) of Ishaq bin Abi al-Furat. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (13/ 7912) narrated it from Yazid bin Harun with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (4036) narrated it via Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah from Yazid bin Harun, but he said in it: "Ishaq bin Abi al-Furat from al-Maqburi from Abu Hurayrah", thus dropping one of the two narrators named al-Maqburi. Details of the narration: This narration will come with the author later at no. (8776) via the route of Hajjaj bin Muhammad from 'Abd al-Malik bin Qudamah. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (14/ 8459) narrated it via the route of Fulayh bin Sulayman, from Sa'id bin 'Ubayd bin al-Sabbaq, from Abu Hurayrah. Fulayh is "hasan in hadith" in corroborating chains and supporting reports. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported (as a shahid) by the hadith of Anas bin Malik found in the Musnad of Ahmad (21/ 13289, 13299), and that hadith is "hasan". Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Another supporting hadith is narrated from 'Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i, reported by al-Bazzar (2740), al-Tahawi in "Mushkil al-Athar" (464), and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (18/ 123-125) and "Musnad al-Shamiyyin" (47). Its chain can possibly be graded hasan.
