It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There will not remain on the face of the earth any house of clay (of town-dwellers) or tent of wool (of Bedouins) except that Allah Almighty will bring the word of Islam into it, with the honour of one who is honoured or the humiliation of one who is humiliated. Allah Almighty will honour them and make them among the people of Islam, or He will humiliate them and they will submit to it (this religion)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

(1) تحرّف في النسخ الخطية إلى: زيد. Note / Clarification: In the handwritten manuscripts this is distorted into "زيد".
(2) في (ز) و (ك) و (م): فيدينوا، بحذف نون الرفع، وقد حُكي حذفها في بعض لغات العرب كما ذكر أهل النحو، والمثبت من (ب) بإثباتها، وهو الجادّة. Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z), (K) and (M) this word is "فيدينوا" (with the nominative nun dropped); according to the grammarians, dropping the nun is reported in some dialects of the Arabs, but we have written it from manuscript (B) with the "nun" retained, and this is the standard (grammatical) usage.
(3) إسناده صحيح. Grading: Its chain is sahih. وأخرجه أحمد 39/ (23814)، وابن حبان (6699) و (6701) من طريق الوليد بن مسلم، عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر، به. Reference / Source: Ahmad (39/23814) and Ibn Hibban (6699, 6701) recorded it by way of al-Walid bin Muslim, from Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir, likewise. وانظر الحديث الآتي برقم (8531). Note / Clarification: See the hadith coming ahead at number (8531). والمراد ببيت المدَر أهلُ المدن والقرى، والمَدَر: هو الطِّين، وببيت الوَبَر أهلُ البوادي. General principle: "Bayt al-madar" means the inhabitants of cities and settlements ("madar" means wet clay/mud), and "bayt al-wabar" means the inhabitants of the countryside/deserts (nomads).
