أخبرني أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقفي، حَدَّثَنَا يوسف بن يعقوب القاضي، حَدَّثَنَا عمرو بن مرزوق، حَدَّثَنَا عِمران القَطَّان، عن قَتَادة عن أنس بن مالك قال: كَوَاني أبو طَلْحة ورسولُ الله ﷺ بين أظهُرِنا، فما نُهِيتُ عنه (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) cauterized me (treated me) while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was present among us, and I was not forbidden from it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل عمران - وهو ابن داوَر القطان - وهو متابع.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of 'Imran (who is Ibn Dawar al-Qattan), and he has been corroborated (mutaba').
وأخرجه أحمد 19 / (12416) عن سليمان بن داود الطيالسي، عن عمران القطان، بهذا الإسناد. وروى معناه البخاري في "صحيحه" (5719) موصولًا و (5721) معلَّقًا، من حديث أيوب السختياني، عن أبي قلابة، عن أنس.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it in his "Musnad" (19/ 12416) from Sulayman bin Dawud al-Tayalisi, from 'Imran al-Qattan, with this same chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Imam al-Bukhari recorded a narration of the same meaning in his "Sahih" under number (5719) as mawsul (with a connected chain) and under number (5721) as mu'allaq, from the hadith of Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, from Abu Qilabah, from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
