Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8492

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that (on the occasion of the Battle of the Trench) Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow in his akhal vein (a vein of the arm), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself cauterized it with his own blessed hand using a broad-headed arrow (mishqas). The narrator said: Then it swelled again, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) cauterized it a second time.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it!
