Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8466

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur-Rahman bin Uthman al-Taymi (may Allah be pleased with him) that a physician mentioned a medicine in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke of putting a frog in it, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this name is corrupted into "Amr".

Note / Clarification: In our manuscripts this phrase is corrupted into "ذكرت طيب", and the (correct) text adopted is taken from al-Dhahabi's
Reference / Source: "Talkhis al-Mustadrak", and it agrees with the narration of Umar bin Hafs in Ibn Qani's "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" 2/ 160 and with the other sources of takhrij.

Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of Asim bin Ali (who is Ibn Asim bin Suhayb), and he is corroborated, while the rest of its narrators are thiqah.
Note / Clarification: This hadith has already passed at number (5995) via Asad bin Musa, from Ibn Abi Dhi'b.
