It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he visited a man named al-Muqanna' in his illness and said: "I will not leave until he has cupping (hijamah) done, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'Indeed, there is cure in it.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it!

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(7655). Grading: The hadith is sahih, and its chain is "strong" (qawi) because of Ahmad bin Isa (who is al-Misri al-Tustari). Important point: He is corroborated with the author (al-Hakim) at number (7655). Important point: Al-Hakim's adding this hadith as an istidrak on the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) is a "dhuhul" (oversight) on his part, because they recorded it via Ibn Wahb with this same chain and text, as passed earlier.
