أخبرنا عبد الله بن جعفر الفارسي، حَدَّثَنَا يعقوب بن سفيان، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بن محمد الفَرْوي، حَدَّثَنَا إسماعيل بن جعفر، عن عُمَارة بن غَزِيّة، عن عاصم بن عمر بن قَتادة بن النُّعمان، عن محمود بن لَبيد، عن قَتَادة بن النعمان، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "إذا أحبَّ الله عبدًا حَمَاهُ الدنيا كما يَظَلُّ أحدُكم يَحْمِي سَقِيمَه الماءَ" (5).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty loves a servant, He protects him from the world (and its contaminations), just as one of you keeps his sick person away from water (so that it does not harm him)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(5) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل إسحاق بن محمد الفروي، وقد توبع فيما سلف برقم (7652).
