حَدَّثَنَا أبو الحسن محمد بن علي بن هانئ العَدْل، حَدَّثَنَا الحسين بن الفَضْل، حَدَّثَنَا عفَّان بن مسلم، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيب، عن عبد الله بن طاووس، عن أبيه، عن ابن عباس: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ احتَجَم وأَعطى الحَجَّامَ أَجرَه، واسْتَعَطَ (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه بهذه الزيادة.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done and gave the cupper (hajjam) his wage, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) also put medicine into his nose.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this addition.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Wuhayb is Ibn Khalid bin Ajlan al-Basri.
وأخرجه أحمد 4 / (2337) و (2659) و (2670)، والبخاري (2278) و (5691)، ومسلم (1577) (65) و (2208) (76)، والنسائي (7536)، وابن حبان (5150) من طرق عن وهيب بن خالد، بهذا الإسناد. واستدراك الحاكم له ذهولٌ منه.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ahmad 4/ (2337), (2659) and (2670), al-Bukhari (2278) and (5691), Muslim (1577) (65) and (2208) (76), al-Nasa'i (7536) and Ibn Hibban (5150) recorded it through various routes from Wuhayb bin Khalid, with this chain.
Important point: Al-Hakim's including it in al-Mustadrak (despite its being in al-Bukhari and Muslim) is an oversight on his part.
