It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, pain in the flank is (an affliction of) the vein of the kidney; when it stirs, it causes pain to the one who has it, so treat it with boiled water and honey."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts the name is: "Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad al-Madini", but the sources of takhrij differ over his name; some have it as here, some "Abd al-Rahman bin Umar", and some "Abd al-Rahim bin Umar". Reference / Source: In "Tahdhib al-Kamal" 27/ 509, in the biography of Muslim bin Khalid: He narrates from Abd al-Rahman bin Umar, and he is also called "Abd al-Rahim bin Umar", and he is also called "Ibn Yahya al-Madini".
Note / Clarification: It is like this in manuscript (K), while the other manuscripts have the word "فدواؤها".
Grading: Its chain is da'if, because of the weakness of Muslim bin Khalid (al-Zanji), the idtirab (inconsistency) in the name of his shaykh, and his shaykh being unknown. (Identifying the narrator): Ahmad bin Yunus is "Ibn Abdullah bin Yunus". Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ibn al-Sammak recorded it in "Juz' Hanbal" (60) and al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (4221) through two routes from Ahmad bin Yunus, with this chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Al-Uqayli recorded it in "al-Du'afa'" (1017) - and through his route Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (1473) - and al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (113), through two routes from Muslim bin Khalid. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Uqayli said: His hadith (i.e. that of Abd al-Rahim bin Umar) is "not preserved" (ghayr mahfuz), and he is known only through it. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Al-Harith bin Abi Usamah recorded it in his "Musnad" (556 - Bughyat al-Bahith) via Yahya bin Hashim, and Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" 2/ 359 - and through his route Ibn al-Jawzi (1474) - via al-Husayn bin Alwan, both of them from Hisham bin Urwah, Technical note / Defect ('illah): (but) Yahya and Husayn are both "muttaham bi al-kadhib" (accused of lying). Note / Clarification: "al-Ma' al-muhraq" (burnt water): water boiled over fire. (Taken from: Reference / Source: Ibn al-Athir's "al-Nihayah").
