It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw in a dream as though there were two gold bracelets in my hands, and I was troubled by them. Then it was revealed to me that I should blow on them, so I blew on them and they flew away. I interpreted them as two liars who will appear after me: one of them is Musaylimah of Yamamah, and the other is al-Ansi of Yemen (al-Aswad al-Ansi)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it!

Note / Clarification: (1) This is how it is in the manuscripts, whereas the source works of the takhrij have "wa al-Ansi sahib San'a'" (and al-Ansi, the one of Sana'a), and that is correct.
Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu al-Yaman is "al-Hakam bin Nafi'", and Ibn Abi Husayn is "Abd Allah".
Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih. Abu al-Yaman is "al-Hakam bin Nafi'", and Ibn Abi Husayn is "Abd Allah". Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (3621, 4374), Muslim (2274/21), al-Tirmidhi (2292) and al-Nasa'i (7602) narrated it via Abu al-Yaman with this same chain. Note / Clarification: So al-Hakim's including it in the Mustadrak is an oversight on his part.
Reference / Source: Something similar was narrated by Ahmad (13/8249), al-Bukhari (4375, 7037) and Muslim (2274/22) via Hammam bin Munabbih; and by Ahmad (14/8460, 8530), Ibn Majah (3922) and Ibn Hibban (6653) via Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Rahman. Both of them narrate from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
