أخبرنا أبو عبد الرحمن محمد بن عبد الله بن أبي الوَزير، حدَّثنا أبو حاتم محمد بن إدريس الرَّازي، حدَّثنا محمد بن عبد الله الأنصاري، حدَّثنا الأشعث، عن الحسن، عن أبي بَكْرة: أنَّ النبي ﷺ قال ذاتَ يوم: "مَن رأى منكم رُؤْيا؟ " فقال رجلٌ: أنا، رأيت كأنَّ ميزانًا نَزَل من السماء، فوُزِنتَ أنت وأبو بكر فرَجَحت أنت بأبي بكر، ووُزِنَ عمرُ بأبي بكر فرَجَح أبو بكر، ووُزِنَ عمرُ وعثمانُ فَرَجَح عمرُ، ثم رُفِع الميزان، فرأيتُ الكراهيَةَ في وجهِ رسول الله ﷺ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked one day: "Has any of you seen a dream?" A man said: I have. It was as though a scale came down from the sky; you and Abu Bakr were weighed and you outweighed Abu Bakr; then Umar and Abu Bakr were weighed and Abu Bakr outweighed; then Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them both) were weighed and Umar outweighed; then the scale was lifted. (The narrator said:) Then I saw signs of displeasure on the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
