It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, a dream comes to pass according to how it is interpreted, and its example is that of a man who has raised his foot and is waiting for when he will put it down. So when one of you sees a dream, he should relate it only to a well-wisher or a scholar."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (4) This name is distorted into "Uhayl" in manuscripts (Z) and (M), into "Ahsal" in (K) and (B), and into "Sahl" in the printed edition.
Note / Clarification: The correct reading is what we have established (in the text), and the author (al-Hakim) has narrated from him in several places in this book of his.
Grading: (5) Its narrators are trustworthy and well known except "Ishaq bin Ahmad bin Safwan al-Bukhari", for whom we have not found a biography. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Unless he is "Ishaq bin Ahmad bin Ishaq bin al-Husayn al-Sulami", whose kunyah is "Abu Safwan"; al-Dhahabi mentioned him in "Tarikh al-Islam" (6/512) and declared him trustworthy.
Reference / Source: In "Jami' Ma'mar" (20354), in the narration of Ishaq al-Dabari from Abd al-Razzaq, it occurs as "Ma'mar from Ayyub from Abu Qilabah", which is "mursal", and Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) is not mentioned in it.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The supporting report for the words "The dream comes about according to how it is interpreted" has already passed in the takhrij of the hadith of Abu Razin under no. (8374).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And for the words "When one of you sees a dream, let him not relate it except to a sincere well-wisher or a scholar", the supporting report is likewise the previous hadith of Abu Razin.
