Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8252

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has cursed seven kinds of people from among His creation." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated (the curse) three times for each one of them, then said: "Cursed, cursed, cursed is the one who commits the act of the people of Lut; cursed is the one who combines (in marriage) a woman and her daughter; cursed is the one who reviles either of his parents; cursed is the one who commits bestiality with an animal; cursed is the one who alters the boundaries of the land; cursed is the one who slaughters for other than Allah; and cursed is the one who takes someone other than his own patrons (benefactors) as his guardian."

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Correction: In the source works the word is "fa-raddada" (so he returned it), and this is the correct reading.

Grading: Hasan li-ghayrihi.
Technical note: This chain is "weak", because Harun bin Harun is agreed upon to be weak, and for this reason al-Dhahabi declared it defective in "al-Talkhis". Ahmad bin al-Faraj is also not very strong, but he has been corroborated. (The narrator) "Ibn Abi Fudayk" is "Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Muslim".
Reference / Source: Ibn Adi narrated it in "al-Kamil" (10/372, Ibn Rushd edition) via Duhaym Abd al-Rahman bin Ibrahim, from Harun al-Taymi, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Khara'iti narrated it in "Masawi' al-Akhlaq" (438), al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (8497), Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" (6/442) and al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (5089), via "Muharrar" (also called "Muhriz", with a za') bin Harun, who is the brother of Harun bin Harun, from al-A'raj.
Criticism: Al-Tabarani said: "No one narrated it from al-A'raj except Muharrar bin Harun!" We say: Muharrar is "matruk al-hadith".
Supporting reports: It is supported by the previous hadith of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and by the supporting report that we mentioned there.
