حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ وأبو يحيى أحمد بن محمد السَّمَرقندي، قالا: حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن نصر الإمام، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد (1) ابن خلَّاد الباهِلي، حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن عبد المجيد، حدثنا خالد الحذَّاء، عن أبي قِلابة، عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أفرَضُ أمَّتي زيدُ بنُ ثابت" (2). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most expert in al-fara'id (the science of inheritance) in my Ummah is Zayd bin Thabit."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. وأخرجه مطولًا ابن ماجه (154)، والترمذي (3791)، والنسائي (8229)، وابن حبان (7131) و (7137) و (7252) من طرق عن عبد الوهاب بن عبد المجيد الثقفي، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الترمذي: حسن صحيح. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (154), al-Tirmidhi (3791), al-Nasa'i (8229) and Ibn Hibban (7131, 7137, 7252) recorded it at length through various routes from 'Abd al-Wahhab bin 'Abd al-Majid al-Thaqafi, with this chain. Al-Tirmidhi said: hasan sahih. وأخرجه أحمد 20/ (12904)، وابن ماجه (155) من طريق سفيان الثوري، وأحمد 21/ (13990)، والنسائي (8185) من طريق وُهيب بن خالد، كلاهما عن خالد الحذاء، به. Reference / Source: Ahmad (20/12904) and Ibn Majah (155) recorded it through the route of Sufyan al-Thawri, and Ahmad (21/13990) and al-Nasa'i (8185) through the route of Wuhayb bin Khalid; both of them (Sufyan and Wuhayb) from Khalid al-Hadhdha'. وأخرجه الترمذي (3790) من طريق معمر، عن قتادة عن أنس. وقال: حديث غريب لا نعرفه من حديث قتادة إلَّا من هذا الوجه، وقد رواه أبو قلابة عن أنس عن النبي ﷺ نحوه، والمشهور حديث أبي قلابة. Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (3790) recorded it through the route of Ma'mar, from Qatadah, from Anas, and said: "This hadith is gharib; we know it from the hadith of Qatadah only through this route. Abu Qilabah narrated something similar from Anas from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the well-known version is the hadith of Abu Qilabah."
