It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, a vow does not bring near to the son of Adam anything that Allah Almighty has not decreed for him; rather, the vow coincides with the divine decree, and in this way, through the vow, wealth is extracted from the miser which he did not (ordinarily, of his own will) want to give out."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it with this wording and context.

Note / Clarification: This is how it appears in the manuscripts, whereas in the other source works the word is "la" (no), and this is the correct and usual form.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is "jayyid" (good) because of 'Amr bin Abi 'Amr, and he has also been corroborated (mutaba'ah). Reference / Source: Imam Muslim narrated this (1640, hadith no. 7) via Qutaybah bin Sa'id with this same chain. Imam al-Hakim's making an istidrak of it is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part. Imam Ahmad (14/8860) and Imam Muslim (1640, hadith no. 7) also narrated it through various routes from Isma'il bin Ja'far. Imam Muslim also reported it through Ya'qub bin 'Abd al-Rahman and 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Darawardi, both of whom narrate it from 'Amr bin Abi 'Amr. In some narrations this hadith comes as a "qudsi" hadith, as the speech of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Reference / Source: A similar narration was recorded by Imam Ahmad (12/7297), al-Bukhari (6694), Abu Dawud (3288), Ibn Majah (2123) and al-Nasa'i (4727) through Abu al-Zinad via 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj. Reference / Source: A narration with the same meaning was reported by Imam Ahmad (13/8152) and al-Bukhari (6609) through Hammam bin Munabbih, and by Imam Ahmad in other places (12/208, 7998; 15/9340; 16/9963), Muslim (1640, hadith nos. 5 and 6), al-Tirmidhi (1538), al-Nasa'i (4728) and Ibn Hibban (4376) through 'Abd al-Rahman bin Ya'qub al-Huraqi. Both of them (Hammam and al-Huraqi) narrate it from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). Imam al-Tirmidhi graded it "hasan sahih".
