حدثني أبو بكر إسماعيل بن محمد الفقيه بالرَّي، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن الفَرَج الأزرق، حَدَّثَنَا حجَّاج بن محمد المِصِّيصي، حَدَّثَنَا يونس بن أبي إسحاق، عن أبيه، عن أبي جُحَيفة، عن علي بن أبي طالب قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "من أصابَ في الدنيا ذنبًا فعُوقِبَ به، فاللهُ أعدلُ من أن يُثنِّيَ عقوبتَه على عبدِه، وإن أذنبَ ذنبًا في الدنيا فستَرَ الله عليه، فاللهُ أكرمُ من أن يعودَ في شيء قد عَفَا عنه" (2). آخر كتاب التوبة والإنابة [كتاب الأدب] ﷽

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it (in the form of a prescribed penalty or the like), Allah is far too just to repeat the punishment upon His servant. And whoever commits a sin in this world and Allah conceals it for him, Allah is far too generous to call to account something He has already pardoned."
