Book of Repentance and Turning to Allah
كُلُّكُمْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ شَرِدَ عَلَى اللَّهِ شِرَادَ الْبَعِيرِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ .
All of you will enter Paradise except one who runs away from Allah as a camel runs away from its owner

حَدَّثَنَا أبو الحسين (1) أحمد بن إسحاق العَدْل الصَّيدلاني، حَدَّثَنَا الفضل بن محمد الشَّعْراني، حَدَّثَنَا إسماعيل بن أبي أُويس، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن سعد، عن صالح بن كَيْسان، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لَتدخُلُنَّ الجنَّةَ إِلَّا من أبَى وشَرَدَ على الله كشِرَاد البَعير" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. وقد أخرجه البخاريُّ ﵀ عن محمد بن سِنان العَوَقي، عن فُليح بن سُليمان، عن هِلال بن علي، عن عطاء بن يسار، عن أبي هريرة، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "كلُّ أمّتي يدخلون الجنَّةَ إِلَّا من أَبَى" قيل: يا رسول الله، ومن يأْبَى؟ قال: "مَن عَصَانِي فقد أَبَى" (3). وقد رُويَ المتنُ الأول عن أبي أُمامة الباهلي:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will certainly enter Paradise, except the one who refuses (to enter Paradise) and runs away from Allah as a camel runs away from its owner."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it. However, Imam Bukhari has recorded it with these words: "All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except the one who refuses." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who would refuse?" He said: "Whoever disobeys me has refused."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it. However, Imam Bukhari has recorded it with these words: "All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except the one who refuses." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who would refuse?" He said: "Whoever disobeys me has refused."

(1) هكذا وقع مكنًّى هنا، وفي مصنفات البيهقي مكنًّى بأبي الحسن مكبرًا، بينما كنَّاه الذهبي في "تاريخ الإسلام" 7/ 705 أبا بكر.
Note / Clarification: (1) The kunya occurs thus here, whereas in the works of al-Bayhaqi his kunya is given as "Abu al-Hasan" (in the non-diminutive form), while al-Dhahabi in "Tarikh al-Islam" (7/705) gives his kunya as "Abu Bakr".
(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل إسماعيل بن أبي أويس وقد توبع عند المصنّف فيما سلف برقم (184).
Grading: (2) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan in corroborations and supporting reports on account of Isma'il bin Abi Uways, and he has been corroborated in the narration of the author (al-Hakim) earlier, at no. (184).
(3) البخاري في "صحيحه" برقم (7280). ولفظه عنده: "من أطاعني دخل الجنة، ومن عصاني فقد أَبَى".
Reference / Source: (3) Al-Bukhari narrated it in his "Sahih" at no. (7280). His wording is: "Whoever obeys me enters Paradise, and whoever disobeys me has refused (to enter it)".
