Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7806

(2) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل عثمان بن صالح السهمي ويحيى بن أيوب -وهو الغافقي- وقد توبعا. وحميد الطويل قد صرَّح بسماعه من أنس عند غير المصنف، فزالت شبهة تدليسه.
Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is "hasan" because of 'Uthman bin Salih al-Sahmi and Yahya bin Ayyub al-Ghafiqi, and both of them have corroboration. Moreover, the narrator Humayd al-Tawil explicitly stated elsewhere that he heard from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), which removes the suspicion of his "tadlis".
وأخرجه ابن حبان (630)، والضياء المقدسي في "المختارة" 6/ (2088) و (2091) من طرق عن عثمان بن صالح السهمي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Hibban (630) and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in "al-Ahadith al-Mukhtarah" (volume 6, hadith numbers 2088 and 2091) narrated it by various routes from 'Uthman bin Salih al-Sahmi, with this same chain.
وأخرجه البزار في "مسنده" (6622) عن عمرو بن مالك، والضياء (2090) من طريق خالد ابن عبد السلام الصَّدفي، كلاهما عن عبد الله بن وهب، به. وقال البزار: وهذا الحديث لا نعلم رواه عن حميد عن أنس إلّا يحيى بن أيوب، ولا نعلم يروى عن أنس إلّا من هذا الوجه!
Reference / Source: Al-Bazzar narrated it in his "Musnad" (6622) via 'Amr bin Malik, and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in (2090) via Khalid bin 'Abd al-Salam al-Sadafi; both of them from 'Abd Allah bin Wahb. Imam al-Bazzar says that, to our knowledge, no one other than Yahya bin Ayyub narrated it with the chain Humayd from Anas, and that it is known from Anas only through this route.
وأخرجه ابن سمعون في "الأمالي" (24)، والضياء (2089) من طريق عمرو بن الربيع بن طارق، عن يحيى بن أيوب، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Sam'un narrated it in "al-Amali" (24) and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in (2089) with the chain 'Amr bin al-Rabi' bin Tariq from Yahya bin Ayyub.
وأخرجه ابن عدي في "الكامل" 7/ 211 من طريقين عن يحيى بن راشد المازني، عن حميد الطويل، به. وقال: لم يروه عن حميد إلّا يحيى بن أيوب ويحيى بن راشد. قلنا: يحيى بن راشد ضعيف يعتبر به في المتابعات والشواهد.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam Ibn 'Adi reported it in "al-Kamil" (volume 7, page 211) by two routes with the chain Yahya bin Rashid al-Mazini from Humayd al-Tawil, and said that only Yahya bin Ayyub and Yahya bin Rashid narrated it from Humayd.
Important point: Although Yahya bin Rashid is weak, his narration is taken into consideration in corroborating chains and supporting reports (mutaba'at and shawahid).
ابن عدي 1/ 200 من طريق مروان بن معاوية، عن حميد الطويل، به. وسنده لا يُفرح به، فيه أحمد بن محمد بن حرب، كذَّبه ابن عدي وابن حبان.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn 'Adi (volume 1, page 200) also narrated it with the chain Marwan bin Mu'awiyah from Humayd al-Tawil, but this chain is not reliable because it contains a narrator named Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Harb, whom Ibn 'Adi and Ibn Hibban declared a "liar" (kadhdhab).
وأخرجه ابن عدي أيضًا 1/ 200 من طريق قتادة عن أنس. وفي سنده أيضًا ابن حرب هذا، لذا قال عقب هذين الطريقين: باطلان. وأخرجه الخطيب البغدادي في "موضح أوهام الجمع" 1/ 258 من طريق أبي سعد سعيد بن المرزبان البقّال، عن أنس وسنده ضعيف وفيه وهمٌ، فرواية البقال هي من حديث ابن مسعود، وانظر تخريجها عند حديث ابن مسعود في "مسند أحمد" 6/ (3568).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn 'Adi also reported it with the chain Qatadah from Anas, but the same lying narrator (Ibn Harb) is in it too, which is why Ibn 'Adi declared both these routes "batil" (false). Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi also reported it in "Mudih Awham al-Jam'" (1/ 258) with the chain Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal from Anas, but this chain is weak and contains an error, because this narration of al-Baqqal is actually the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud, whose takhrij is given in "Musnad Ahmad" (volume 6, hadith 3568).
