(1). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the 'aqiqah for Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) with one sheep, and said: "O Fatimah, shave his head and give in charity the equivalent of the weight of his hair." So we weighed the hair, and its weight came to one dirham.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrators are thiqah except Muhammad bin Ishaq; he is saduq and hasan al-hadith, but he is a "mudallis" and did not explicitly state that he heard it from 'Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr (bin Muhammad bin Hazm). There is also a difference on Ibn Ishaq as to whether this narration is connected or mursal, and for this reason Imam al-Bayhaqi, after mentioning the connected (mawsul) narration (9/ 304), said: "I do not know whether it (being connected) is mahfuz or not." Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Shaybah 8/ 235 and Imam al-Tirmidhi (1519) narrated it by way of 'Abd al-A'la bin 'Abd al-A'la, from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from 'Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr, from Muhammad bin 'Ali bin al-Husayn (Imam al-Baqir), from 'Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). Technical note / Defect ('illah): This narration does not contain 'Ali bin al-Husayn, and he is (here) al-Husayn bin 'Ali; and the two of them (Ibn Abi Shaybah and al-Tirmidhi) put al-Hasan in place of al-Husayn.
